From the Journal of Hrogar

We started searching through the temple that is located under the underwater ruins the Sea-Witch was using as a base of operations. As we left the submarine, the sharks and squids are still circling it. I fear that their presence is not because of the engine like we were hoping, but something far more foreboding. It may be that we are being watched and followed.

After some initial exploring, we found a part of the temple where we could clear out the water and continue searching in the air. At this point, I thought about going back for our armor, but for some reason, I didn't act on this idea. Curse my insufferable inaction! Truly, I won't be a worthy champion of Halmyr until I start acting on good ideas.

Anyway, we searched through the dry part of the temple, and eventually came across one of the Obsidian Mirrors. I wanted to see what was on the other side, and Nigori (who is not quite as irritating as I was worried about) wanted to see too, so we went through to check it out. As soon as we were on the other side, Nigori tried to throw herself off a cliff. Apparently she was overcome by a spell left to guard the gate or some such. I was able to keep her from succeeding in said task until she returned to her senses. We then brought the others through to see what it was like. Then we met Raan again.

Raan. I'd forgotten why we hadn't gone through any of the gates in a while, then I remembered when we met Raan again. She's just as dangerously insane as I remember. Mistera really didn't like Raan and her pseudonatural 'pets'. I can't blame her. Luckily we were able to get back alive, and destroy the mirror (although Raan's pet 'tiger' got trapped on our side, and I fear we have loosed yet one more evil upon the world). After breaking the mirror, Mistera demanded to know who Raan was, and after finding we'd met Raan before, Mistera asked why we didn't kill Raan considering she (or at least one of her personalities) is obviously up to no good. On a practical level, one of the reasons is that the first time we met Raan she was obviously out of our league power wise. She may still be so, although it's less of a foregone conclusion at this time. Perhaps the next time we meet Raan, we will have to do battle, and if not the next time, it is almost certainly an eventuality. Knowing that, I must work on a strategy to use when we come to that point.

So we continued exploring the temple, and came across a sea-monster, one with psionic attacks. It was able to control Fflam into attacking me, and without our armor we weren't much of a threat, I feel we're lucky to have survived. It escaped, but no doubt it will return, and so shall we, but better prepared this time. I intend to bring my armor next time, as well as any gear I still have that had been intended for the Kraken, and any other gear that might be useful for such endeavors. I shall have to talk with the others (especially the magic users) about what tactics we might use next time.
