O' Pelor,
Grant us forgiveness, for taking part in a deception!
O' Pelor,
Grant us victory, as we face great evil!
O' Pelor,
Grant us steadfastness, however long the road ahead!
O' Pelor,
Grant us hope, that Herakles may take mastery of Walter-Tupper again!
O' Pelor,
May I be thy loyal servant and thy effective instrument in the trials of this day!
Lord Pelor, I commend myself to thee and thy commands!

Good Victory
I am not sure if it is Arcadius or xxx, but all of a sudden our group started using tactics. I even convinced them to use formations, which worked well. Let me start from the beginning. We went deeper in the ocean to go rescue Steinbjorn’s wife. We went deeper and deeper until we found a bubble. The bubble was an alarm but it also drained the life out of me when I passed through it. I do not think I ever felt to weak, but there was no turning back.
Not long after the bubble we came across a caster, a controlled sea elf. It did not take us long to get past him, but the damage was done. Most of our time sensitive ability and spells were lost. The mage put up a stone wall preventing us from entering the temple and put the monk into a magic cage. It took some time to break our way through. After tearing down the wall we proceeded into the temple, without the monk. It was not long unit we ran into some more guards. This is when we formed a shield wall because the guard started throwing spears at us.
After some time the monk made his way in and started to follow us, apparently under mind control. I wonder if it is a dwarf thing. Perhaps dwarfs are not strong willed because Flam fell under mind control as well. It was at this point we meet up with Steinbjorn’s wife and we got into more of a direct fight with the guard and the monk. I was amazed Tupper showed that he knows how to fight and was using his head. He used a net to detain the monk. After fighting for a while we continued deeper into the temp. This is when we came across the aboleth. Arcadius showed what a have the favor of the gods can do when fighting evil. I have not seen many people that are able to deal out so much damage in such a short time. Pelor is a great god.
Now we must wait for the affect of the aboleth to wear off and then we will have to deal with our good friends who sent us out here in the first place.

Sztuczka's Journal
So we stayed over night in the Pelor area of the temple because it was warm if we didn't go to far in and we set out to find our new companion's wife and we set forth swimming and swimming and then we came upon a sunken city and nothing ever goes wrong in sunken cities! and we swam through a protective bubble and i don't feel so well now and our new friend put up all sorts of protections and i stayed in the bubble and then we had to fight our way through the city and we ran into our new friend's wife and she was most definitely being controlled according to him and so we turned around but dantro apparently has been taken over as well and we had to fight him to get out of the hall we were in and we fought the abolith and we got rid of it but we have no idea of whether or not dantro and or new companion's wife are ok. and new friend made me invisible. as fun as being a squirrel was, it was more fun being invisible!
I like the bubble!

A note on the word Tup'r
It is somewhat unpleasant to write this, but duty and propriety suggest that it be done. Since the arrival of Walter-Tupper, I have regularly called upon my training and seriousness of mind as a Paladin of Pelor and a Guardian of the Five Rivers to avoid mispronouncing his name as a certain word in my language. Discussing this in detail may help explain matters.
The word "tup" means itch in my language, that of the Five Rivers. To someone speaking common, it sounds like roughly like "toop".
Now in the language of the Five Rivers, there are three genders: masculine, feminine, and neuter. Most words are neuter, and the genders refer only to things that either are, or are directly related to, male or female creatures. The genders are represented by a suffix: 'n for masculine, and 'r for feminine.
Thus, "tup'r" could be transliterated into common as "feminine itch".
In practical use, however, it usually refers specifically to an itch or rash of a woman's privates. A woman saying she had an itch on her elbow, for example, would normally call it a "tup" not a "tup'r".
However, even in the Land of the Five Rivers, people sometime use slang or vulgar words, and this one has a number of such meanings.
A woman, when particularly angry, might refer to something that really annoys her as a "tup'r", and this crude meaning is sometimes used by both men and women to refer to things that irritate women in general. In vulgar language, it is also sometimes used, almost exclusively by women, to imply that another woman has not kept good hygiene in her private places.
The masculine equivalent, "tup'n" has a different vulgar meaning, which I am uncomfortable writing even in this journal.
Given such difficulties, which are compounded by his failure to behave in any way worthy of respect, I make effort to refer to Walter-Tupper by his full name, rather than the short version which so easily leads to saying the wrong thing.
Pelor forgive me, and grant me self-discipline.

Praise and glory to Lord Pelor!
We rested for a few hours in the undersea temple of Pelor, our ability to breathe underwater sustained by the spells of the wizard Steinbjorn, and the icy grip of the waters kept away by the light and warmth of Pelor. When we awoke, we prepared defensive prayes and magics. The wizard used his magic to find that the lair of the Aboleth was a place about three miles distant, and perhaps a hundred or two hundred feet down. We set forth without delay to find it, and free Steinbjorn's wife.
We traveled for a while, then descended a slope to a lower depth where the water was a deep blue color. There on the seafloor was a ruined human city, perhaps a thousand or more years old. In that city was a large building with a sea-elf guard outside it. We were traveling inside a protective bubble of magic created by Steinbjorn. It defended us against spells, and, importantly, mind control, as well as having horrible effects on those so foolish as to pass bodily through its barrier. However, on sight of the guard,Dantroe promptly charged to attack. The guard proved to be a wizard, and trapped Dantroe in a cage of magical force. Then the guard summoned a wall of iron to block the door of the building.
Hrogar and Azar then advanced and struck down the guard. We then realized we had no way but labor to remove the wall. Given our lack of proper tools and experience, it looked to be a task of a day or more. Steinbjorn dropped his bubble and, as it proved, had a considerable expertise in architecture. He pointed to certain weak places where we could remove stones from around the door, and the matter was done in a few hours.
Entering the building, Steinbjorn created another magical bubble. However, we naturally found the Aboleth prepared. It sent another guard to harass us as we advanced, hurling harpoons at us. Azar at this point demonstrated his great worth by organizing himself, Hrogar, and I into a shieldwall. He had some military training in his homeland. In this formation we deflected the harpoons and protected those behind.
After a short while, and much to our surprise, Dantroe appeared. A strange look in his eyes alerted us that he was probably under the Aboleth's power and had been freed by it to attack us. For the time being, he contented himself with following us and waiting for an opportunity.
We passed a side hallway and there found Steinbjorn's wife. I noted from symbols on her person that she was a Paladin of the grim goddess Hel. At present, however, she was under the power of the Aboleth, and raised her weapons. Steinbjorn shouted to us not to harm her, and summoned a cage of force around her. She gave a speech promising to destroy us all, but then ran hard against the walls of the cage. We turned to leave her there for the time being, and continue on.
Unfortunately, the second guard, along with Dantroe, were now blocking our path. We advanced on them and pulled them inside the bubble. It seems this magic works such that if WE advance on them, they are not affected by its defenses meant to prevent THEM from advancing on us. Ah well. In any case, they quickly attacked. It was a short but hard fight. Praise be to Herakles, Walter-Tupper for a brief moment showed real spirit, and threw a net over Dantroe, trapping him. Azar and Hrogar slew the guard, and then Walter-Tupper struck Dantroe with a back-alley ruffian's weapon known as a sap. Crude, yet quite effective at knocking out a foe without slaying them.
Dantroe incapacitated, we rounded the hallway and finally reached the chamber of the Aboleth, or so we thought. It seemed to sit there waiting for us, but thankfully, some of us were able to recognize it as an illusion. Steinbjorn noticed an illusory magic above us that proved to be hiding the true lair of the fiendish thing. We swam upward, but luckily for us, Walter-Tupper thought to search for traps, and in fact found a web of tripwires, which he disarmed to sufficient degree to allow us to pass.
Entering the Aboleth's lair, we were immediately caught in clouds of some foul substance. Whatever it is, we have yet to discover its effects. I prayed to Lord Pelor to grant me the gift of a divine sacrifice, that is, that I would sacrifice my own life force to deal additional harm to an evildoer. Such a foe was worth such a price. I then charged the thing, calling upon Pelor to smite it with divine light. Lord Pelor, through me, dealt it indeed a mighty blow. My companions arrived, and I saw firsthand how much more of a true Paladin Hrogar has become.
The thing fought back with magic and its foul tentacles. Azar, Hrogar, and I fought with our swords, Steinbjorn with his magic. Knowing the importance of victory in this moment, Sztuczka, that great heart, cast some spell of wrath upon herself and charged it. Someone, it would have to have been Steinbjorn, made her invisible and she became a thorn in the vile thing's side. Even Walter-Tupper joined in, firing his crossbow underwater.
After a short, but dire battle, we slew the thing. Praise be to the gods of right and valor!
Its master, whatever that master may truly be, spoke to us in our minds, in a cold deep voice, mocking us and promising that we would fail. Let the evil thing of darkness mock, the light and the truth shall triumph!
May I and my companions aid that triumph, however we can.

Praise and glory to Lord Pelor!
It has been but a few days since I slew the Shadow Dragon necromancer, and rid the worlds of its evil. Now, I have been called forth by Pelor and Herakles to rejoin and aid my old companions!
I received a vision the Herakles, the god himself, wished to speak with me. Of course I accepted at once, and as soon as I had gathered my gear, I was transported across the planes to a place where in the ruins of an ancient city an avatar of Herakles speaking with, of all people, Walter-Tupper and Hrogar! If any, I thought, could use the instruction of Herakles, it would be they! I was humbled, honored beyond all mortal expectation that Herakles introduced me as a Paladin who had stayed true to the cause of courage and right!
I know not what to say or think, to be honored by a god in person.
Nonetheless, I quickly understood why I had been summoned.
Hrogar, it seems, has been reformed. This is good. Before, he proved a disgrace to the very name of Paladin. Now, he worships a northern god associated with cunning and strategy in battle. This is well fitted for him, I deem. He seemed a changed man, and showed the very steel he had so gravely lacked before.
Walter-Tupper, on the other hand...
By the gods, why does this miserable cowardly wretch continue on with us, and yet resist the glorious destiny to which he is being called? If he prefers hiding in corners to doing the will of worthy and righteous gods, why is he here? Herakles, the god Herakles himself, stood before us, his great immortal lion standing nearby, and implored this pitiable excuse for a man to step forth and become what he could, by accepting destiny, become... and what did he, Walter-Tupper have to say in reply? He insulted the god to his face! Herakles however, is in his own way as forgiving as Lord Pelor, and merely laughed.
Having, no doubt, other concerns, Herakles then left and instructed us to return through a portal whence the other two had come. His lion returned THROUGH that portal, and emerged on the other side as, for now at least, a magical statue of a lion. We went through the portal and I quickly discovered my companions had been, yet again, under water. Thankfully, Herakles gifted me with power to breath underwater for a time. The others had magic already in place.
On the other side, to my great joy, I saw Sztuczka! What a great and brave spirit is housed in that small frame! She brings warmth to my heart! I am glad to see her returned. Of the others, there were only Walter-Tupper and Hrogar that I knew. It seems Fflam died as he had lived, in a storm of fire. May he find peace in the afterlife. Ragnarr and Chris apparently went to the city of Sigil, yes THE Sigil, to protect some being of immense power they encountered in the form of a young and naive girl. The power and destiny of the Staff of Ehlona are apparently in some way bound up with this girl. I suspect we shall encounter them again. Jacob and Aurelia have left, as it seems had others that came and went while I was gone.
Our party has been augmented by Dantroe, a dwarf, and Azan, a noble warrior of Pelor. Together, the lot explained our mission. We were exploring an undersea complex, which appears to be a sunken temple or place of power of deities opposed to the undersea city. It seemed we were to gather kelp from a secret chamber in the lower parts of the temple. The enemy city itself is either controlling or controlled by that most ancient and evil race, the Aboleth.
Things became difficult.
At the chamber of Odin, Dantroe offered to sacrifice himself, as Odin had once done, in order to activate whatever gate or power was in the place. We had hoped it would be symbolic, but indeed he was hanged and died, for a time.
Then, a wizard named Steinbjorn appeared, insisting that we drop everything and fight an Aboleth that was in this very area, and had captured his wife. After some discussion he realized it could not be done at that precise moment. When he heard the details of what Dantroe had done, he scanned the magic of room and and decided to JOIN Dantroe.
Thus, there we were with two corpses hanging from a tree, and the kelp not yet harvested.
Azan and I went to the chamber of Lord Pelor, and there explored in, praying as we went. My prayers for guidance were indeed answered, and Lord Pelor protected us as we went forth, past the crystal shark that guarded the way down to the lower chamber. There, was a grating that seemed likely to be magical and locked. Rather than help us, Walter-Tupper had insisted he stay behind to guard, of all things, the floating corpses of the men who had sacrificed themselves. He argued at length with me against coming to help, do his job, and check for traps. Thankfully, Lord Pelor gave me patience and I did not have to use force.
After much wasted time, Walter-Tupper swam back with me, where he checked for and found a magical trap involving electricity. I called forth the power of Lord Pelor and he granted my companions resistance to electricity. Then Walter-Tupper set to try to disarm the trap. He failed. We were shocked. Thankfully, the shock was not so great that any of us died. He, Walter-Tupper then unlocked the lock and down we went. To my annoyance, Walter-Tupper then wanted to immediately head back to "guard" the dead bodies, leaving us to our fate should be encounter any other traps. Sztuczka and I had to nigh-order him to remain.
May the gods turn this worm, Walter-Tupper, into a man!
We cut a section of kelp under the watchful eye of crystal barracudas. There were symbols of many gods on the walls. Praise be to all who fought and are fighting this evil! We quickly left.
Shortly upon returning, our companions returned to life, saying they had been to a place called the Iron Forest under the control of the northern goddess Hel. Walter-Tupper's steadfast defense against ravaging minnows appeared to have paid off, and they were little worse for wear.
Then, another problem emerged.
After some pointed questions by myself and Steinbjorn, it emerged that those who had dispatched the companions here to this place (1) had crystal amulets (2) detected as evil, and (3) had an Aboleth on hand.
It appears my companions were deceived.
However we still had the kelp, which indeed radiated great power, by the will of Lord Pelor. Therefore, it would be a matter of what to do WITH it, and what to do next as a group. We have to deal with these masters of evil deception, and soon.
Pelor give us guidance!

Pelor Forgive me and help guide me
Pelor I have made a grave mistake. I have allowed myself to be fooled into working for evil. Why was I so blind? I was not able to see that we were working for the enemy and I was so close to giving them this kelp that you so graciously allowed us to remove from your temple. What is even worse is I gave my word that I would work for them. One would think my training would have prepared me for this.
I would like to say that being around some of these companions have dulled my reasoning and that is why I made these bad decision, but I know I am at fault. Pelor forgive me, I have shamed your name by making so many mistakes. I promises you I will make up for this but first I must break my word. Praise be to Pelor and please have patients for your misguided follower.
Valdís - Origins (Part One)
(First Disclaimer: This is one of many posts for the origin story. It will be longer than most, I expect two or three posts total.)
(Second Disclaimer: The origin story here is subject to change as Tim and I work out our character histories and mesh them together.)
---
I've always respected mothers.
My own mother had only one reason to live once her husband had died protecting the village, and it was to raise me. She had given so much over these years to make sure that I was well provided for, and I only wish that the gods will allow me the same chance one day.
--
My childhood was as stable as it could have been, considering the circumstances. Plenty of the other villagers took me in as their own, and there were plenty of father figures growing up, but not a father that I could run home to. My mother mated for life, her heart broke that day when the other warriors brought back his sword and his shield. She mounted them above the hearth, and for many years I fell asleep to her crying.
I wanted to be just like my father, or what I had heard about my father, since I had never seen his face. There were many tales of his great deeds, and I wanted to continue the family line of great warriors, since I was his only daughter. The village thought it amusing, I think, giving me lessons and teaching me with wooden swords for long hours, despite my lithe and slight form.
--
One night in my young adult life, I was shaken awake in the middle of the night by my mother, who had heard moans and wails from me in my sleep. She stripped away the covers to see what was wrong, and giant pools of blood seeped from between my legs, gleaming in the candlelight. I passed out at the sight.
A meadow, in Autumn. I see the walls, the gates, in the distance. A couple of steps take me distances, and I'm already to the gate. The doors open at my hand's touch, into a great hall. Before me a figure is seated, a woman. Her voice echoes through my head, telling me how I have been branded with her mark, how I've been saved from death only by her whim. She holds out a skeletal hand, which chills me to the bone as I place my hand in hers.
I awoke to the sight of the village's Seiðrkona. Before I could speak, she held a finger to my lips, and had me drink a bitter brew of herbs. I lay back down onto the bed as she told me that I had been out for over a week, bleeding my lifeforce away, and they were afraid of my passing into the afterlife. I told her of what I saw, and she nodded sagely. They had scryed, she said, and saw that I had traveled between the worlds, to visit my true mother, Hel.
--
The years afterwards were but a blur - changing my name and vowing my life and duty to Hel and to Helheim. I trained as a warrior as learned what little of the arts that the Seiðrkona deemed necessary for my survival. Ever since that fateful day where I almost bled out, I have been denied the sign of being a proper woman, and some have whispered around the village of me being a barren mate. Of the times that I've asked the Seiðrkona of this phenomenon, they've told me that Hel has a very special purpose for me, and that she wants nothing to stand in the way of her vision.
I became a holy warrior for the Temple of Hel - where they send and directed me was at the whim of Hel and Her seers, and I am but to follow and carry out Her will. I've killed many people, all in Her name. I sailed away countless times with armies - some for protection, others for conquest - but always as Her sword.
I did not expect that at one point, it would also be to find love.

Steinbjorn, Day 1
I should be studying.
I'll have a hard fight ahead of me tomorrow. Harder still because I may have to fight my
own wife.
But that only makes it all the more critical to win. If we lose, I lose her to the
aboleth. I've already lost enough people to those bastards. I won't lose her, too.
I've wasted enough time. I need to study.

Sztuczka's Journal
This has been an interesting day and Hrogar and Tupper came back from whatever it was with Herakles and they brought back Arcadius with them! Arcadius is back and yay and squee and things and it's good to have someone back who actually leads and Hrogar and Dantroe weren't the best for that... And we made a new friend who hates aboliths because one has control of his wife and we were blindly following the requests of the Senechal and no one really put any thought into it further until our new friend and Arcadius came back and I realized that it was Mystera who negotiated the stuff with the Senechal but she wouldn't really have knowingly put us into danger would she?
And another reason it's good to have Arcadius back is because he doesn't take any bs from Tupper and Tupper wanted to guard the unconscious bodies of Dantroe and New Friend, when really they were just a little nibbled on by fish and we got the kelp but we're debating what to do with it and it appears we're gonna go back and attack the Seneschal and the abolith and hopefully get New Friend's wife back and did I mention Arcadius returned? Squee!

Journal of Dantroe
Perhaps I found the wrong group after all. Seeing how readily Tupper has driven at least one member from the group, perhaps he just drove away all the others one by one. Of course, I wouldn't be surprised if the sea-elf had just decided to wander off on a whim. And wasn't she carrying some artifact of great evil?
Without the elf's help though, getting the forge started at Moradin's shrine is going to be tough. Unfortunately, I was never much one for crafting, unlike my brethren. In the meantime though, the others are going to have a tough time of things very quickly without the help of the sea-elf or the druid. I need no assistance to survive down here, but I can't share that with the others.
We may find ourselves returning through that portal sooner than expected, and empty handed.
Journal of Lt. Tupper, Day 254
Day 254
Apparently I am the only person in the group that does not enjoy being forcibly transformed into wildlife.
So we set forth in the morning to locate Nogori and Azan, only to find Nogori's magical residence set up right outside the keep. When Schtooichzzkaah went to wake her, she was turned into a squirrel. Also, squirrels can hurt you. Do not agitate squirrels. Dantro's turn at dragging the primadonna into consciousness was significantly less rodent prone, thought still not successful. After Hrogar had a deep and spiritual moment with her pet turtle, we decided to get back to the task of finding Azan. This was surprisingly non-eventful, as he was wandering around the island looking for us.
It turns out Nogori had found the keep's obsidian gateway, and decided to blunder through it with Azan in tow. On the other side, he encountered sailors led by a shaman. They claimed they were all hired to assault Stonekeep, except they were called off when it was 'bloodlessly' captured. Their current assignment, presumably from the same person, is to defend the area around their end of the obsidian gateway from an impending attack. On their return through the gate, Nogori and Azan were detained and questioned by the Seneschal, and released only when they promised to assist her.
Alright, so, barring any future startling revelations or dishonest seamen, there are three factions at play here: the normal government and people of Stonekeep, the current caretakers of Stonekeep, and those that planned the aborted battle. Now given that the forces of the third faction were called off when Stonekeep went down like a sack of wet kittens, this would mean Faction 3 was either in poorly-communicated cahoots with Faction 2, worried about waging a public battle with a foe that still kept things discrete (since Faction 2 slid into command with nary a scream), or slow on the draw. And if they were too late then that means either the forces of Faction 2 outnumber their own, or the reason to capture the keep is no longer in play. It can't be good, whatever it turns out to be.
Did I mention squirrels hurt? Yes, yes I did.

The Clock is Running Out
It is amazing this group gets anything done. They are constantly fighting. The fighting went so far this time that Mistera left. Tupper and she got in an argument and she stormed out. So with her leaving and Nigori disappearing we are running low on time. I do not have a lot of experience with magic but I am guessing time is short. We might need to go back and get better supplies so we can breathe underwater. I figure we have until the end of today.
In our way is a shark. We believe it is tied to these sanctuaries to the gods. I must say when I went into the Pelior area I have never felt so close to him. Our problem is we do not have a way to deal with two of the areas and I have concerns we might have issues with the third. For the third we are relying on Tupper and I have concerns that he will not be brave enough to prove worth to Hercules. We will have to wait and see. Anyways I am going to give them some more time but if things do not get dealt with quick some more extreme measure might have to be taken.

An abridged story of the life of Dorota
A long time ago, there was a little Gnome. Little is relative. If you were to compare her to a human child of the same age, the child would have been almost the size of a grown-up Gnome. The young Gnome grew up in a most unusual family, especially for Gnomes.
You see, Gnomes are tinkerers at heart. The family she grew up in, tinkered with the heart. They did so through music, story, and magic.
Her Ojciec was a great orator. Her Matka had an amazing voice. With her violin, her Babcia, the most beloved of her family, could make even the toughest Czar weep. Of her Dziadek, little is known. It is said he could not abide by his wife's decision to travel the world and perform and he wanted little to do with his son.
Long before the young Gnome laid eyes on the weathered skin, happy with wrinkles, our story begins. Long before she had earned the name Babcia (Grandmother for those who only speak Common), she was called Dorota.
Dorota grew up during the time when Gnomes were persecuted. They were forced to live in villages of their own, with little contact with the humans in the Steppes. She learned all the things girls were supposed to learn from their Matka. She learned to sew, clean and cook. She could read a little, but barely more than the Good Book on which she was raised. Her Ojciec taught her one thing that was not required of a future house-wife. He taught her to play the violin. He showed her the many ways to elicit emotions from the strings.
By the appropriate age, her Matka had chosen a groom for her. He was from a good family and was to be a Cleric of their faith. It was not long after they wed, that they soon welcomed their only son, Jacek.
For nearly three years, they lived in peace. Then a revolution began. The old Czar had made a few advances towards ending the persectution of Gnomes. His Heir, felt that his father had been lead by lunacy in his late years and started reversing the policies his father had set forth. He soon learned just what Gnomes were capable of if you made them mad. And he had thousands of angry Gnomes to deal with. Some of the more entertaining stories pertain to the booby-trapped carriage that flipped on him... but that is a tale for another time.
For the first time in centuries, Gnomes were free to travel the country. The still young Dorota wanted to travel and play her violin across the nation. The Cleric would have none of that and did not even like her practicing.
So in the dead of night, she took her violin, the clothes on her back, and her young son and went out into the world. They spent most of the first fortnight just sight seeing. They were in awe of the human cities. She would play her violin on street corners to earn bread to feed them.
It wasn't long before a noblewoman heard the violin singing to the city as she passed in her carriage. She offered Dorota and her young son a place to stay and food, if she in return played for her. It was in the service of Lady Katarzyna that Dorota met the traveling Gypsies. They were brought in to assist in the entertainment for a very large fete. The Gypsies had already acquired a few Gnomish players, but were keen to have a few more Gnomish musicians. So with Lady Katarzyna's blessing, Dorota set out with the Gypsies after the fete.
Her son learned to act and speak from the Gypsies and became as great an orator as the best of the humans. Dorota assisted a young mother with the birth of her child, a girl. It was decided then that the girl was meant for Jacek. And thus the family tree grew to include not only Gnomes, but a varied band of Gypsies and eventually the young Gnome, who wide-eyed and eagerly learned to make Czars weep just by drawing horse hair across the strings of her Babcia's violin.

Azam and Nogori disappeared. I've been trying to get Tupper to let me do the talking. We don't know if they wandered off on their own or if our "hosts" took them and Tupper totally shoulda put his foot in his mouth and let me talk and Hrogar was letting me talk and

Soooooo Nogori is back and apparently if you try and wake her up she turns you into a squirrel and it was fun being a squirrel but I don't like nuts so it's probably a good thing they got me changed back and I am not sure but I think the monk managed to piss her off even more and finally we got it out of her that she had found an obsidian portal and she and azam went through it and when they came back she went to bed and Azam was talking to the Seneschal and Mystera returned and now we need to decide what to do. Getting this group to do anything is a pain in my patootie!

Magical Girl Nigori: Lost at Sea
Dear Ms. Diary,
I have good news and bad news.
The good news is that, just by thinking about home really hard, I can make myself teleport! So that's neat.
The bad news is that, um, I maybe haven't quite completely mastered the teensy weensy issue of teleporting to where I want to go.
I mean, I can't complain too much. Sashie taught me all this magic stuff, so maybe this is something he's doing. Sending me to wherever I need to be or something, or maybe he's just really nice and thought I could use a break from Tupper's endless yammering, or the giant mean fish somehow figured out how to mess up my spell casting, so I should have gone to the right place, but they totally made me go someplace else.
Oh, no! That would be terrible! What if they're figuring out how to block my spells?!?!?! The world will be doomed in no time!
I've got to figure out how to break through this. I know I can do it. I just have to think about home really, really hard.
Are you ready, diary?
Here I go!
Oh, look! Whales!
Be back in a jiff, Ms. Diary!

Journal of Lt. Tupper, Day 253
Day 253
I hate being a frog.
The nutcase decided to sell me off to the Seneschal today; when I refused, she pulled the same stunt she did the last time she didn't get her way. Fortunately, the Seneschal seems to have as much sense as she has arcane power and restored me to normal. She was also willing to expound her organization. They battle a group known as the Isphit, as noted; a faction of aboleths that loathe all sentient life as we know it, led by a very old 'prime' aboleth. The last time they rose up, Ehlonna herself vanquished them with the staff. The quartz crystal necklaces we have encountered are part of an extensive communication and control network: the bearers are subjected to a mind control spell, then given orders remotely through them. The Seneschal and her allies also use the necklaces to communicate, though interception of enemy messages is nigh-impossible.
As for Nogori, she has apparently run off to sulk about her failure at the slave trade. Azan and Mistera are also gone, though Mistera had to leave early in the day on vision-based business and Azan presumably left to find something to punch. That or our hosts are slowly picking us off, which is too ridiculous to consider at this stage.
Which means it is entirely probable.

Journal of Fflam - Final Entry
Well, that's that, I suppose. One moment, we're fighting a lich, then an explosion of fire... and darkness.
Not that explosions of fire followed by darkness are all that uncommon for me, but the darkness usually goes away after a while and I find myself missing a fair bit more hair. This time upon waking, I discover not burned patches and pain, but rather that ALL my hair has returned! My beard is thick as it ever was, and perfectly groomed and braided. Then I realize where I am, and what must have brought me here.
The Halls of Moradin are far grander than any tale or song could have suggested. If you were to take all the greatest dwarven cities in the world and brought them all together in a single great cavern, they wouldn't hold a candle to this. I couldn't even begin to describe...
So I won't.
I can look down on my death, and the rest of the group as they clear out the remaining shades. For a moment I think if they'd just given me my axe, maybe I could have been more effective against it. But of course I suppose I've done more harm than good with that recently, thanks to that blasted aboleth. (I'm sorry for that, Sztuczka.) Of course, having no weapon on me made me realize I could turn the shades with the fury of Moradin, keeping them off the rest of the party. And once Hrogar handed me that small axe, it came alive with the power of the Soul Forger and I was able to use it to great effect on the lich.
Ah, I realize now it was a good death. A death fit for a dwarf and a warrior, against the forces of the dark.
It's been made clear to me that I can remain here in the halls of Moradin for a time and follow the progress of the rest of the group. Eventually though I will have to make my way up to the Soul Forge, so my soul can be sent back to start life anew. Until then, I will watch with interest this ragtag party of... odds and ends. If this is the group that is to save the world, you wouldn't know it by looking at them.
At least they seem to have found themselves another dwarf to keep them in line, although the idiot can't even afford a decent set of armor...

Things aren’t always what they seem.
Nigori did some investigating and found a portal. Not knowing if this was a portal like the enemies I thought it was important to investigate. After getting pass several locked doors and protective creatures we came across the portal. I decided we should go through the portal and see what was on the other side. On the other side we came across a sailing/warrior clan. They were the clan that attacked Stonekeep. I talked with their leader, a shaman to try and find out more information about the group that hired them to attack the keep. They claim that they are in this area to fight the creatures that hired them in the first place. They were told something evil would come through the portal.
After staying in their camp over night we went back through the portal only to meet up with the Seneschal and two Iron golems. She escorted me to a cell, obviously wanted to know how and what I was doing. After some time sitting in the cell the Seneschal showed up. After talking to her for a while we came to an agreement that I would still help her with the requests she had asked from our party. Later that day I was able to find the group wandering around. I told them what had transpired. A few days later Mistera showed up and we went through the portal to try and track down some sea weed.

Magical Girl Nigori: Chilling Outside the Temple
Dear Ms. Diary,
So I guess I picked up some kind of evil item, and now Heracles won't let me go adventuring with anybody else. Which might mean I did something bad, but it might just mean that he really likes me and this is his excuse not to let me go into the dungeon because there's something really bad in there. One of the two.
Oh, and I found the best shark ever. So Azam and I went through this portal that I, you know, had just kind of found, and wanted to see where it went to make sure it wasn't evil and stuff, and we found this guy who could see me even though I was totally invisible (which was too bad, really, since I was wearing, like, the cutest little parka, and if he hadn't been able to see me, then too bad for him, you know?), and he took us to his village, and Azam gave me some money for some fish (like I need money, but it would have been rude to say no), and they had some shark, and all the guys there (they were all guys, since they were a war party and all, so their wives and stuff were at home. Poor guys.) were like "Here, you should eat this shark," so I did, and it was really tasty. But then it got me, like, really, really drunk, like way not princess drunk, but the sailors were all really nice to me, and they helped me lie down, and then they found out I could do magic and got kind of scared, but I told them it was totally okay, and made the parka disappear, and then they wanted me to show them that spell some more, so I totally did, like, a fashion, and then...
Well, Ms. Diary, I'm sure you're too much of a lady to want to know the details. Especially since they gave me some more shark, and I don't really remember much of the details, except that when I woke up, I couldn't find my clothes, and I'd lost some money. OH!, but one of the viking guys liked me so much he gave me a really nice pearl. It's all gray and stuff. And then everybody was, like, super nice to me on the walk back to the portal. I guess Azam spent the night, like, talking to some old guy or something, so he missed out on the fun, but that's alright.
Oh, and then the mean lady was there when we came back. I would have talked to her, but I needed to go to bed. But I'll bet she made the aboleth that's down there take over the brains of the fishies. I mean, there's no other possible explanation for why they kept trying to wake me up. A girl needs her beauty rest, you know? And besides, it's not nice to break into someone's house! Especially not a Magical Girl. You're likely to end up a squirrel or something.
Also Shtu liked being a squirrel. I wonder if she'd like to be a kitten. Or a monkey.
Oooh! Monkeys. I could make her a sea monkey!
I wonder how my brother's sea monkeys are doing. I miss him.
And Sashie.
Oooh, Sashie. I hope he won't be mad about the whole viking thing.
I wonder if I could figure out how to magic myself home. I mean, just for a little. I should be able to find my way back, right?
Maybe I'll go try that.
Talk to you again real soon, Ms. Diary!
